Hywel Evans

I was introduced to fly fishing more than 30yrs ago by a colleague and great friend Dee Wells while I was going through a difficult period.

On her retirement she became a very well known bailiff at Chigbourogh Lodge near Maldon in Essex.

I also had the privilege of learning and fishing with Ken Mansfield, a very well respected Essex fisherman.

To say I fell in love with fly fishing would be an understatement.

My wife and I moved to live and work in Spain for 15 yrs. So my fly fishing was put on hold.

On our return, having retired while in Spain I decided to rekindle my interest. Obviously both equipment and techniques had moved on a long way since I last picked up a rod and chucked some fluff.

I had some excellent instruction from a very well known Norfolk casting instructor and fell back into love with the sport.

Having rekindled my love of fly fishing I wanted to impart what little knowledge I had to others to allow them to experience the enjoyment I had found.

I have now spent the last 6yrs helping others of all ages and genders to discover the benefits to be had by fly fishing in particular.

I look forward to meeting some of you in the near future.
